Meschke stays at 1600 Holloway Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94132 and her email address is LMeschke@sfsu.edu.The journal article aims at investigating the intervention measures that promote healthy adolescent development in various developmental stages through a developmentally appropriate practice (DAP).

The journal article includes a methodology of two-pronged review of the adolescent literature that seeks to achieve the stated aim. Indeed, the study focused on biological, cognitive, and social outcomes of adolescents in age groups ranging between 9 and 19 years (Meschke, Peter, & Bartholomae, 2012). Additionally, the journal article includes a literature review on DAP strategies. The study established huge biological, cognitive, and social development across different adolescent age groups (Meschke, Peter, & Bartholomae, 2012).

These findings relate to DAP strategies used by adults to promote healthy development among the youth. However, the journal article notes that although more researchers and practitioners are trying to promote positive youth development, there is limited research on how DAP strategies can enhance healthy adolescent development (Meschke, Peter, & Bartholomae, 2012). As such, the article concludes by stating that we need to increase our understanding and use of adolescent research especially using DAP to promote adolescent research and development (Meschke, Peter, & Bartholomae, 2012).

I believe the authors had the authority and knowledge to write about this research topic. The journal article is very important since it addresses a unique way of promoting health development among adolescents. Indeed, the introduction of developmentally appropriate practice strategies is a new dimension in addressing youth development. The sample used in the study is also reliable and relevant since it represents all adolescent age groups. Moreover, the two-pronged review of the adolescent literature covers all aspects of the research on adolescent development.

Notably, the journal article is objective because it follows an orderly format to cover important parts of the research study. The journal article depends on works from other scholars that is enough and reliable to support the research findings. Most importantly, the article draws a relevant and informed conclusion that relates to the research topic. The article also identifies the limitations of the research and recommends future directions that will promote adolescent development research.ReferenceMeschke, L.L., Peter, C. R., & Bartholomae, S.
