Othello, an artistic analysis of the tragedy of William Shakespeare Introduction William Shakespeare is known for many plays, including Othello. The play centers on using two journals pertaining to Othello. The research seeks to affirm or contradict the two journal’s discussion of the Othello play. The two essays clearly indicate Shakespeare created a high quality tragedy play. Brief summary of the essay's argument. The essays describe personal views of the Shakespearean play, Othello. The essay points to Othello as revolving around the love affair between Othello and his wife, Desdemona. The essay focuses on the ill goal of Iago to break up the love relationship between the two lovers, Othello and Desdemona. The essay offers an analysis of Iago’s ill plot. The story centers on Brabantio’s refusal to accept the love brewing between the suitor, Othello and Brabantio’s daughter, Desdemona. The author significantly explains why the Othello and Desdemona two entered into a secret marriage. Essays on Othello. The Raymond Powell essay centers on the on the issue that Iago uses villainous acts to drive a wedge between Othello and his wife, Desdemona (Power 582). The author discusses the Shakespeare’s time period, 17th century. The author characterizes Iago as the person who exerts enough efforts to create a false story that Desdemona is having an affair with another person, Cassio (Marotta 69). Joseph Marotta (69) theorizes that Senator Brabantio charges that Othello used witchcraft to make his daughter fall madly in love with Othello. Consequently, Othello is forced to marry Desdemona without the father’s knowledge or consent. Regarding Desdemona, Marotta (69) insists that Desdemona’s love for Othello forces her to willing succumb to the insults and punishments of Othello, including her untimely murder. Othello’s rage triggered Othello’s murdering Desdemona. The essay shows that Desdemona’s love for Othello will be brought to a life-threatening test. The quote significantly brings up the possibility that Desdemona could have escaped here death. In response, one possible escape death at the hands of Othello is to fight back. Desdemona could have confronted Othello and demanded an explanation for his jealous rage. Desdemona could ask that a hearing be conducted so that Desdemona can prove her innocence. Othello’s faithful wife could have asked Othello to present evidences that will prove Desdemona is having an extramarital affair with Cassio. Consequently, Iago will be forced to prove that his false stories of Desdemona’s flirting activities are true. In the same manner, Desdemoan can call her own witnesses to prove someone stole her handkerchief Iago framed Desdemona. Instead, the author indicates some women’s desire to keep quiet and let fate go its unbridled way, accepting her death without a murderous at the hands of her one true love, Othello, without lifting a finger. Further, Marotta (69) describes Othello’s abused Desdemona by accepting the false stories stating Desdemona is a whore. The Othello abuse is triggered by the supposed illicit affair between Desdemona and Cassio. Consequently, Othello slapped and killed Desdemona. Marotta insists that Othello’s jealous rage over stories that Desdemona was flirting with Cassio. The author emphasizes that Emilia proved that Desdemona was innocent of the charge of having an illicit affair, after Othello had killed Desdemona. Consequently, Othello regretted his act, triggering Othello’s suicide. Significantly, the author brings to mind that Othello’s regret cannot bring back the life of his faithful wife, Desdemona. By describing the true character of Desdemona, the author (Marotta 69) wants to contribute to the current voluminous literature on Shakespeare’s writing style, especially the Othello play. More importantly, the two above essays significantly show the biased and conflicting preferences of the Othello pay characters. Shawn Smith (3) affirmed that Senator Brabantio filed a case against Othello. The author explains that Brabantio tries to prevent the marital union between Othello and Desdemona. The author (Smith 3) describes jealousy by discussing that Iago invents false stories that Cassio and Desdemona are lovers. The main focus of Smith’s essay centers on Iago’s ardent desire to create a wedge between the two spouses, Othello and Desdemona. Smith describes that Iago successfully triggered Othello’s doubting Desdemona’s sincerity by manipulating ambivalence to triumphantly deceive Othello to believe Desdemona is having an affair with Cassio. Iago falsely informs Othello that Desdemona gave her handkerchief to Cassio as proof that there is love binding Cassio and Desdemona. Further, two essays significantly questions Othello’s character is an honest person. At the start of the play, Marcia Macaulay (259) indicates that Othello projects himself as a person of worth and character. Othello is shown as a confident person. Before killing Desdemona, the author (Macaulay 259) reiterates Othello states even though Desdemona is having an affair with another person, Othello, is still loves Desdemona very much. In fact, Othello great love for Desdemona drove Othello to murder her. The murder gives the impression that the murder will stop future meetings between Desdemona and Cassio. Furthermore, the two essays significantly describes the evil Iago’s false accusation triggered the avoidable deaths of the main characters. The two main characters are the two lovers, Othello and Desdemona. Robert Evans (35) theorizes that Iago was triumphant in making Othello believe the false story of Desdemona’s extramarital affair because the community regarded Iago as an honest person. The author emphasizes that Othello is convinced that Iago is an honest person. Consequently, Othello took Iago’s lies as bible truth. Othello was convinces that Iago’s story of a secret love affair between Cassio and Othello’s wife, Desdemona is true. Othello did not bother to conduct a deeper investigation of the veracity of Iago’s false story by questioning Emilia and other witnesses. Instead, Othello took Iago’s lies hook line and sinker (literally). Conclusion. Summarizing the important points of the above discussion, Othello is one of Shakespeare’s well loved tragedy plays. The two journal article essays correctly describe the conflict between the villains and the main characters. The two journal essays describe the consequences of an individual’s acts, either good or bad. Othello committed suicide after realizing he killed innocent Desdemona. Iago was punished for his false rumor mongering. Senator Brabantio was not able to prevent Othello and his daughter, Desdemona, by creating false accusations. Evidently, the two essays significantly affirm the exquisite quality of the Shakespearean play, correct interpretations of the Othello tragedy. Works Cited Evans, Robert.
