Information system and transforming business affiliation Question Management of costs in small business such as fast foods needs to implement a system that is easily but frequently can be afforded. Services that are offered by software should be tested and no modification made on the software. Testing the software and training is needed so that all those exposed to the use understand the implementations. Choosing of the operation system was considered as minimal changes are needed when the system is implemented and the scope of implementing the process considered. According to Dresner on his book ‘The performance management revolution’ ,using ATM for payment for the fast food will be convenient to the organization as there will be reduction of time wastage over the counter. Efficiency will be improved by the system when there is reduction in the number of location that the machines are implemented or by reducing the modules. The implementation of the second strategy is not so much advisable since it will have a tight integration. “Costs in developing the information system is considered in this approach as information system is always connected to functionality” (Raisinghani, 2004). This is because the fast food business will be the one to pay for features, modules and functions. The problem that will come out as a result of this implementation is that all the functions and features may not be used as the business may think they will operate. In the implementation, there is need for proper project analysis and also good negotiation abilities. The factors will enable obtaining a good price for goods that are sold in the outlet. The analysis will make sure that important features are included in implementation and their necessity (Raisinghani, 2004). The business will be required to pay the functionalities and when they will decide to use another costing method, they will have to spend a lot before they can turn it on. Before the business implements the use of ATM method for payment, there are factors that they will be considered. The business for the purpose of reduction of cost can make the choice of starting with a simpler enterprise application and as time continues, they are able to grow to more complicated applications. The business also can start with accounting and add other applications when there is rise in the needs. In implementation of the new payment system, the business management is to consider much on negotiation as this is the factor that will make operation effective. Negotiation is important as it decrease the initial cost of the software that is implemented by lengthening the term in which the contract is maintained (Khan, 2010). The system makes the revenue of the business to be stable and this is much crucial for the business in implementing the system of payment. An issue that is considered in implementing the system of operation is negotiation on the discount of services that are provided rather than discount that is obtained due to the software. This is done with consideration of free training and days that are free for support. The main concern that the business can have is on diminish in the initial capital that is needed in start of the operation using the new method and maintenance in the future may be a burden to them. As brought about by Dresner, when the business implements the use of ATM in payment for their services, there are several advantages that they will be able to enjoy. The implementation will lower cost and they will have the best commercial alternatives as there will be less wastage of time in getting the services provided. Using the system is easy to customize and internalize the use of the application. The operation will be unique in requirements in each market and facility. The uniqueness will enhance competition with other businesses with the same services. The implementation lowers costs to develop from open source framework than the need to serve each and every customer over the counter. There is no vendor dependence in the application and makes the business maximize operations and profits. Raisinghani in his work, “ Business intelligence in the digital economy” brings the fact that in success of the implementation, the key factor is knowledge on the product. There should be professionals who know the use and implement the product. Complexity that comes due to the use of the new system requires one who is able to well analyze it so that the complexities do not affect operation of the business. Training is another component that the business should consider so that the implementation cost does not burst out due to lack of relation to the method that is used. Training on use of a new method is always expensive but should be considered so that best outcomes are obtained. Recommendations There should be implementation of ATM in the business of the fast food. When this application is used with other applications such as mobile applications, there will be more sales and more profit. When the business implements the use of ATM in payment for their services, there are several advantages that they will be able to enjoy. The implementation will lower cost and they will have the best commercial alternatives as there will be less wastage of time in getting the services provided (Khan, 2010). Using the system is easy to customize and internalize the use of the application. The operation will be unique in requirements in each market and facility Question 2 Mobile phones have currently been used in marketing and this has made social media and smartphones reach to be used for ordering goods from stores and restaurants. In the study on consumer facing technology, the consumer has much opted to using their mobile phones in making orders most so in fast food outlets and restaurants. Mobile ordering is an innovation that fast food has put in the forefront. Mobile ordering involves using smartphones to buy goods and the goods that are ordered can be delivered to the premises of the consumer or the consumer can collect them at given outlets. Mobile ordering has involved the use of iPad order kiosk. This method involves reduction of lines that are made in kiosk. The method involves placing an order immediately one enters in a kiosk or restaurant and sit down relaxing waiting for the order. In testing on this application, there has been the advantage of the system as it has prevented more walk always and there is increase in the number of orders that placed. Time is also minimized as orders are placed faster and there is no congestion at the counter. “Facebook ordering is a trend that comes up in mobile ordering and the method can be well implemented in fast food outlets and also restaurants. In implementation of Facebook ordering, there is the use of Facebook payment integrations” (Khan, 2010). Examples of the integrations include Chow Now and Net Waiter which enables consumer to get their orders in to popular platforms. Implementation of the application is not costly and it is advantageous to the business as it will increase sales and increase attention of consumers towards the business. Tabletop e-waiter and checkout is a mobile application that can be used to maximize orders by a business. The application reduces the hate that consumers have over their credit cards when waiters rush it over the checklist (Khan, 2010). This can also bring common frauds in credit cards. To minimize the instances of fraud and hate in business, tabletop e-waiter and checkout allows use of iPad to self-check one name in the checklist and make an order. In the application, there are also suggestions on additional products that one can order and the bills come just after the order is made. In the use of this application there is faster provision of services and the fast foods are able to serve more diners per night. Customers are also happy with the services that they receive. Digital menu boards and smartphones is also a mobile application that can be used in making orders in fast foods. With the application, costumers are able to view menu for the restaurant. Using the application, there is increase in serves that are made to consumers as they make decisions before they come to buy or place an order. There is also entertainment for consumers as they wait in line for their orders. The quick serve and entertainment make consumers to be happy and encourage more sales for a good. Other applications that can be used in sales for better service of customers are through game as u wait application. In these applications there are games that can be played by kids on restaurant floor as one waits for an order. This happiness in kids makes their parent become frequent consumers to the fast food or restaurant. Suggestion Mobile ordering should be used in the business to improve sales together with ATM. Mobile ordering has involved the use of iPad order kiosk. This method involves reduction of lines that are made in kiosk. The method involves placing an order immediately one enters in a kiosk or restaurant and sit down relaxing waiting for the order. All the problems that are faced by the fast-food will be reduced through the methods. References Dresner, H. (2008). The performance management revolution. Hoboken, N.J.: John Wiley & Sons Khan, A.
