[Your full March The order of nature is a true miracle The term miracle is derived from a Latin word miraculum meaning a wonderful thing, and is generally defined as “a wonderful event” that is against the natural order and is unaccountable at the same time (Corner 3). The nature and the order in which it has been laid is the greatest miracle that one can envision in this universe. Those who have been blessed with the eyes of wisdom and heart filled with pure belief can sense this miracle.

What makes the Earth revolve around the Sun and rotate about its axis resulting in the formation of days and night at regular intervals, is the greatest example of the order of nature as a miracle. Allah, the Almighty, says in his Holy Quran that: “And He hath made subject to you the sun and the moon, both diligently pursuing their courses; and the night and the day hath he (also) made subject to you” (14:33), and “It is He Who created the Night and the Day, and the sun and the moon: all (the celestial bodies) swim along, each in its rounded course” (21:33).

Everything in the universe is following a specific course which accounts to the order of nature. Night follows day and day follows night. The emergence of sun and moon follow a specific pattern. Seasons come and go and follow each other without breaking the set pattern. You sow a seed and see a tiny bud coming out of it which grows into a plant and then into a huge tree, which blossoms and gives fruit. The order never reverses itself. The water cycle is another example of the order of nature.

The water vapors evaporating from the surface of seas and rivers combine to form clouds which when filled pour out the collected water in the form of rain, which again gets accumulated in the seas and rivers to begin the cycle all over. This order will never see a change till the end of the universe. All these examples are a miracle in themselves- events that make one think what causes them to occur and who is controlling this sequence. Allah, the Almighty, says: “It is not permitted to the sun to catch up the Moon, nor can the Night outstrip the Day: Each (just) swims along in (its own) orbit (according to Law)” (36:40).

This proves that nothing has the right and power to break the order of the nature as set by God. All of these miracles are His signs that He shows to the people of wisdom. Those who do not ponder over this order of nature cannot feel the essence of the creation of the universe. According to Leonardo da Vinci (qtd. in BookRags), the order of nature is a necessary order if it is a mathematical order, and this makes this order a true miracle. Leonardo states that the nature has the capability to cut down the bad effects that are arising from their causes through “shortest path” and “briefest operation”.

This accounts to the simplicity of the order of nature because the nature solves everything in the simplest fashion and with highest mode of complexity. Works Cited BookRags.
