What was the hosts’ blog used for?The host blog was used for finding out 40 to 60 hosts for each wine tasting dinner event. It was actually a part of the company’s marketing campaign. What capabilities were introduced by the mashups? Mashup software was used for integrating the events’ location map into Wikipedia. Web 2.0 technologies have redefined the World Wide Web communication by permitting users to comment on a blog or create content (Gonzalez, April 6, 2008).

This has enhanced the quality of interaction. Stormhoek used blogs to find out the hosts and guests for 100 wine tasting events which would increase their sales. This increase in the sale was due to the proper use of blog which was created and operated with the help of web 2.0 technologies. What is blogspam and why is it a problem? Blog spam refers to random comments posted automatically by marketers for the purpose of promotions. It is a problem because it is an illegal use of somebody else’s blog to get more clicks.

Blog spam gets the traffic away from the original blog to the visitor’s blog (Hill, 2006).
