This can be made possible by maintaining a healthy diet. Healthy eating does not entail strict philosophies of nutrition, by depriving oneself of some foods. Rather, it is the state of keeping oneself healthy by learning some nutrition basics. Nowadays, many journals and books are addressing issues concerning health and diet. This article will give a summary on the necessities required for a healthy diet. This article will also focus on tips of maintaining a healthier diet. In the nursing discipline, health and diet are vital requirements to sustain living. This paper will give the most vital tips required in healthy living. Healthy eating must include how to “eat smart”, not what or how one eats. The choice of food one takes will also determine the risk of diseases that may affect the individual (Bessems, Assema, Paulussen & Vries 2011). In addition, healthy eating stabilizes an individual’s thinking and boosts memory. The most common tips for a healthier diet include setting oneself to a healthy diet, moderation in eating, how meals are taken, and the healthy foods that are not to be ignored in meals. Firstly, for an individual to be able to run a healthy diet program, they should plan a manageable diet for themselves. They should learn how to eat in small bits or minimal quantities. This will boost and enable quick adjustment of their body to diet concerns. However, this does not mean that one is to totally eliminate some meals taken before. The best method is to reduce the intake of these foods by ensuring a less intake (Bessems, Assema, Paulussen & Vries 2011). Secondly, one should practice moderation. This is because people cannot fully restrict themselves from unhealthy foods better known as junk food. It has been proven that in case one tries to avoid such foods, the more the craving for them, hence increasing the intake and causing much harm to the metabolism of their bodies (Bessems, Assema, Paulussen & Vries 2011). In addition, fruits and vegetables are the foundation to a healthy diet. They should be included in the meal or after meals to provide vitamins, and other mineral salts. Thirdly, one should take into consideration the meals taken into their body. The type of food people take affects their health conditions extensively. Experts recommend that a well balanced diet should be maintained. This calls for a close revision on the meals consumed daily. Individuals should include foods rich in carbohydrates, vitamins, proteins and mineral salts. Such food constituents should be taken in the form of the original foods and not as pills unless otherwise. Fourthly, some foods that are rich in fats are also crucial to the body. Some of them include those with Omega 3 fats called EPA (Bessems, Assema, Paulussen & Vries 2011). Foods rich in these nutrients reduce cardiovascular diseases, prevent dementia and improve mood. Generally, water is one of the most salient aspects in healthy diet. Water will enable the digestion of food, and also aid in other metabolic activities. In most cases, a normal human being is recommended to drink eight glasses of water daily to maintain stability in the functioning of the body (Bessems, Assema, Paulussen & Vries 2011). However, health and diet experts recommend a limited salt and sugar intake. It is said that sugar and salt have an effect to the metabolism of the body. For instance, high sugar levels in the body causes diabetes which is a terribly serious condition. On the other hand, salt is said to cause hypertension if taken in large doses. Therefore, sugary drinks and foods containing lots of salts should be limited or avoided at all costs. Conclusion In consideration of all this, one is assured not to go wrong on their diet. Moreover, to maintain a balanced diet one is advised to keep fit. This is achieved by performing numerous exercises to ensure that one burns most fat in their body. People should practice a vigorous and healthy lifestyle in order to live longer. Regardless of one’s situation or age, nutrition and choice of food can be altered to enjoy a healthy life.
