Of all beneficiaries of the innovation, the transportation segment could be regarded to have highly profited out of the system. Not only have their cost of operation been reduced but the incorporation has exposed them to scores of opportunities that were quite unthinkable a few years ago. Potentials customers can now enjoy their services from any corner of the world at nominal costs. The same services, which had to be accessed a couple of years ago through being physically present at a booth, can now be availed at any point of time through a virtual medium, which has helped in the proper allocation of resources.

Furthermore, the system has helped to improve the transparency of the segment which has won them the faith of their consumers outstandingly. Since the problems arising out of a time lag between the purchase of a ticket and travel are minimized due to the introduction of e-commerce, these advantages are particularly applicable for the airline industry. The airline industry is characterized and known for the high-profile clients that they deal with. In most of their cases, these customers are compelled to fix their schedules at very short notice which might not be accomplished had ticket reservations not been possible through the internet.

Even many others who perhaps are very little habituated to such hectic routines often make use of the advantage. The prime reason behind the popularity of the system is to solve the dilemma of time crunch which demands the allocation of minimum time possible for any particular task. Many-a-times, people need to rush somewhere to take care of some emergency needs; in most of such cases, it is e-commerce which they incline, to bail them out. In earlier times, whenever the problem of time-crunch cropped up, people had little option but to rely upon their travel agents to reserve tickets on their behalf.
