Topic: Christopher Columbus Like every nation, every country has a fatherly figure to look up to, The United s of America has Christopher Columbus. Describing the importance of Christopher Columbus in the history of United States in mere words is almost impossible. America would not have been there if it was not for Christopher Columbus to go on a voyage and discover the lands of native Indians and make a colony of some people there which grew into the United States of America. After Columbus’s first visit to the lands and getting to know about what those lands could bring to his people, He decided to pay a second visit but this time a prepared visit.

A grand visit to the lands with enough army and ships to destroy the resistance he might face in building a country and He was successful. In a nutshell Christopher Columbus is the founding Father United States of America.The author explains the seesaw of Columbus’s reputation since his conquest in the lands of native Indians. Earlier, He was known as the founding father, the patron saint and his birthday was a national holiday but then later on as people seem to get educated and they get to know more about the killings of native people in these lands and the cruelty done with them.

Columbus somewhat lost his reputation. Different people said different things about him. Many theories surfaced which had a devastating effect on Columbus’s reputation.
