Service Automation using Mobile Applications Service Automation using Mobile Applications In an environment of significantly increasing technological development, investing in various technological developments remains the greatest requirement of organization in ensuring that their programs and systems align to those of the other digitalized institutions. Development in such an aspect is considered to be one of the most critical concerns of every organization considering the contributions towards the enhancement of operations and service delivery in such institutions. Additionally, significant technological development in an organization increases the efficiency and effectiveness of performances, resulting in significantly better performances with higher productivity. Based on such considerations, the use of technology for the common individuals has become a common aspect in today’s world, with a consideration that affects the lives of many individuals within shorter time frames sand as such, has an immediate impact on the lives. Mobile application systems as a means of automating services at the county offices has, therefore, become a substantive stride towards enhancing the delivery of service at the county offices. This paper discusses the enhancement of service delivery as an attribute to the automation of services using mobile system applications. Previously, the county has realized significant losses and weak operative mechanisms, attributed to the use of outdated programs for the provision of services in the county. Considering such an occurrence, it is therefore an aspect of significant impact, the automation of services using simple mobile application systems as a means of addressing the challenges constantly experienced in the County because of the poor operation systems. Two of the major common challenges constantly experienced in the County office with a significant impact on the entire county involve increased corruption among the major players in the sector and increased availability of ghost workers, from which the county loses lots of cash, limiting the expected growth and economic development in the area. The two major challenges addressed above affect the county offices in two major ways. First, the county revenue obtained through tax collections in the county, money collected for the purposes of running the programs of the county ends up in few pockets rather than providing services to all county to the citizens that pay the taxes. Such an aspect has significantly slowed down the development process in the county as there are insufficient funds to run the operations of the county. In addition to that, the availability of ghost workers contributed to by the poor registry programs available in the county offices, equally increases the loss of county money, as a majority of individuals available in the payrolls are never real county workers or in certain instances, double registration of persons occur. Considering such a development, it is evident that a larger percentage of the county budget goes to the payment of salaries for the workers who in reality don’t exist rather than funding for programs and services that have an impact on the entire population of the county. Ideally, based on such occurrences, automation of services at the count offices has become an aspect of significant importance, especially in the facilitation of improved service delivery. The use of a mobile application system would significantly work to enhance performances and service delivery and equally, provide sufficient solutions to the recurring problems on the county offices, especially in terms of handling money, through the involvement of a single pool to channel all the collected funds rather than different departments handling different funds within the system. Additionally, the automation of services will equally eliminate the existence of ghost workers and double registered workers as ever individual is required to make a new digitalized registration, which involves incorporation of certain very important information especially on an individual’s bio-information. Through such measures, it is evident that individuals are limited to a single registration, resulting in reduced budget for salary allocation funds and in turn increased availability of funds to run services in the county, which translates to improved service deliver and economic growth. From a different perspective, corruption has also been in existence through the manner in which employments are given in the offices. In most instances, employments are made based on who one knows in the county rather than the qualifications necessary for a particular position. Research Methods The research process involving the infrastructural development of all the systems is indeed a tiresome project considering the numerous aspects that one must put in place as facilitation to the realization of the projected outcome. The three major research methods employed included the use of questionnaires, conducting of interviews and observations. Despite the fact that the three research methods are not sufficient in obtaining the crucial results desired in making determinations in the project, it is clear that they are sufficient enough to provide an overview of the occurrences in the county offices for the development of appropriate strategies necessary for rectifying such occurrences. As such, the project involved 20 participants, 10 of whom are employees of the county government and the other ten being ordinary citizens. Results Mobile application use both for socioeconomic development and communication has indeed been an established aspect currently. For the proper functionality there are indeed of aspects that need address. In order to achieve the desired results, mobile application system software is developed with the provision of all critical elements necessary in enhancing performance. As such, mobile application with all the necessary design for establishing change in the county government operations is developed with the provisions of automatic payments from mobile phones directly to the county government account unlike the previous instances when different individuals had the responsibility of collecting funds for the county government especially in terms of revenue collection. Additionally, the mobile application system software provides for increased power for citizens as they are in a position to access so much of public information and get faster delivery of services as they no longer have to personally make operations rather services are obtained from wherever an individual is and in the fastest way possible. However, despite the significant strides made in enhancing performances at the county offices through the use of mobile applications, the project has faced significant huddles and challenges, an aspect that has hampered the successful implementation of the project for the benefits associated with the project. The greatest challenge involving the application of the mobile application involves the lack of understanding on a majority of the people who need to work with the projects as well as a rejection of the project in totality especially by cartels that believe the project would limit their access to funds as previously witnessed, which is indeed one of the critical aspects that the project needs to address. Despite the critical steps made towards enlightening people towards embracing technology and the increased manifestations it has made in the society, a substantive majority of individuals still remain backward especially on handling technological devices. Considering that with the significant development and implementation of the mobile application requires sufficient knowledge of all individuals for the effective participation in service access and economic development, it is indeed a challenge in the implementation of the project. As such, effective implementation of the project requires sufficient training and awareness creation for the general public on was of embracing such a technological development directed towards enhancing service delivery in the county as well as increasing accountability on the side of the county government officers, who have previously been the greatest obstacles towards the economic development in the county through their increased corrupt dealings. Corruption in the county offices remains deeply rooted with none of the officers happy with any efforts to change the current operations, considering that with the use of the outdated systems, there is the opportunity of making double registrations into the payroll systems as well as an opportunity of providing employment opportunities for cronies rather than the qualified individuals who would equally work in enhancing performance in the county. As such, the officers remain the greatest obstacles towards the effective implementation of the project. In most instances, individuals usually believe in programs that have previously been tested elsewhere and their effectiveness determined. However, in the current situation, mobile applications have not previously been in using in the county and as such, the increased difficulty for individuals to embrace such a change and effectively work with it. Additionally, in regions those similar projects have been implemented seldom accept providing any information pertaining to the effectiveness of their systems majorly because of the confidentiality especially in matters of security aspects associated with the implementation of the project. Projects such as this contain numerous aspects of confidential information and mechanisms as such, no organization wishes to make any discussions pertaining their implementation aspects and the effectiveness. Regardless of such stumbling blocks, the successes have in most instances been of the high degree standards, making a believe that with appropriate structures the mobile application implementation works sufficiently in addressing the numerous challenges currently experienced in the county in ensuring success in the enhancement of technology and in efficient and faster service delivery in all aspects. Discussions Mobile application technologies have sufficient impact with regard to enhancing economic development and influencing of democratic management processes especially in public offices. With proper and effective implementations strategies, mobile applications would go a great deal in creating new communication channels and equally provide for an opportunity of public involvement in the decision making processes of various aspects that pertain to enhanced service deliver. However, the reality of making such an aspect workable remains the greatest difficulty in realizing the success of the applications. Providing appropriate solutions to such a stalemate would involve providing alternatives to the currently proposed aspects as a means of determining the success. The possible alternatives, therefore, are; working out the project in other institutions that significantly embrace the adoption of new technologies for enhanced service delivery, and with positive outcomes, the County offices with then see the progress and equally apply. Considering the confidentiality in the implementation aspects of the project, conducting a pilot project plan involves implementing certain aspects of the project and in the case of success, and then full implementation is effected immediately to full to the county offices. Considering the high effectiveness of automation of systems and the use of mobile application software, the implementation of projects such as this, have high success rates. Ideally, with the proper development of the infrastructure, the application of mobile software system achieved great success, most especially in addressing the challenges at the county offices. Indeed in the implementation, significant success has been realized in enhancing performances in service delivery and elimination of corruption, elements that have previously been of great hindrance to proper and effective service delivery in the county offices. With the automation of services at the county offices with implementation of the mobile application system has proved successful in numerous aspects, previously considered as challenges and obstacles to efficient service delivery. From the bio-registration of employees in the offices, a significant reduction in the population dynamics has significantly been the greatest achievement. From the significant reduced numbers through the limitation of ghost workers previously flooding the county’s payroll system has reduced the salary’s budget, amounts that are currently being used for other developmental projects, an aspect that has proved successful in increasing the developmental projects previously stalled because of lack of funds. Service delivery has equally improved substantively in the county operative systems as an attribute to automated employment of employees, ensuring that all individuals taken in are the most qualified and competent for the responsibilities required. Additionally, the county currently has a single pool for the collection of all funds, which has eliminated all the potential loopholes previously used in minting public funds by the county officials. Ideally, the use of mobile application software system for the automation of services in the county operative mechanisms has proved to be effective in eliminating all the challenges to the county offices as previously experienced. With technological advancement, it has proved that development of mobile application system is the greatest possible solution towards addressing the common challenges in various societies.
