The Most Important Qualities of an Outstanding Educator An outstanding educator possesses a number of key qualities, which distinguishes him/her from other educators. Some of the most significant qualities of an outstanding teacher include fair and just, good communication skills, commitment, ability to adapt to changing needs, and motivation. Let us discuss all of these qualities in some detail. Fair and Just One of the most significant qualities of an outstanding teacher is fairness. A good teacher never discriminates among his/her students and takes every decision based on justice.

Good teachers treat all of their teachers equally and do not ignore any student. They do not give priority to any particular student rather they have friendly relationships with all students. Such teachers not only take fair decisions themselves but also encourage and motivate students to incorporate fairness and justice in all aspects of their lives. Good Communication Skills Another quality of an outstanding teacher is good communication skills. A good teacher is always a good communicator.

Good teachers know how to deal with their students and can effectively communicate with the students from different backgrounds. Such teachers are very proficient in bridging gaps between themselves and their students through making the students feel loved and valued. Good teachers not only communicate with their students verbally but also make a good use of nonverbal communication skills. Good teachers know that leaning cannot occur without transferring the knowledge to the students in a friendly and pleasant manner.

Therefore, having effective communication skills is very important for a teacher not only to make the students learn but also to earn the status of an outstanding teacher. Ability to Adapt to Changing Needs One of the core characteristics of an outstanding teacher is the ability to adapt to changing needs. A teacher must be able to accommodate students to the use of latest instructional technologies. Learning needs of the students change with time. A perfect teacher is one who is aware of the changing trends and has the ability to become accustomed with the social and technological changes that may affect students at some point of time.

Motivation Motivation is also one of the basic qualities if an outstanding educator. A good teacher is always motivated towards bringing positive changes in the educational life of the students. Without motivation, no one can succeed in his/her professional life. Good teachers are very enthusiastic and passionate by nature and put every effort to bring success not only to their own lives but also to the educational life of the students. Commitment Commitment is also a quality of an outstanding teacher.

A good teacher is committed towards his/her responsibilities and never compromises on the standard of knowledge that he/she delivers to the students. Commitment is a key towards success for every person and for teachers it is not an exception. A good teacher is always dedicated and committed to make the students learn everything efficiently. They take their responsibility seriously and take every step to fulfill the responsibility in an appropriate manner. Good teachers give preference to their job and put everything aside while on job.
